About us

Northgate is a branch of Chapel Hill Community Church in north-east Hamilton, New Zealand. Our situation today is the result of a deep conviction that Chapel Hill should plant a new church somewhere in the north of Hamilton, and the Lord graciously provided the perfect piece of land to build a church that will literally be a light on a hill. The positioning on a rise near the intersection of Gordonton and Borman Roads overlooking the north-east of Hamilton gives added weight to our name "Northgate".

As we progress from the initial branch we expect to grow in numbers as well as in spiritual maturity, and would invite you to join with us, worship with us and be part of an exciting journey.

Vision Statement

We see a church that exists to worship God and bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to people who don’t yet know him, because this is God’s purpose for us.

 

With this as the heart of our vision, we see a church with a strong core and open walls, whose people go out confidently into the wider community and where members of that wider community come and go with ease.

 

We see a church where applied loving relationships are visible proof of God’s life in us, a church that promotes discipleship and good Biblical teaching as the best preparation for engaging with the culture, and a church that provides excellent care for children and young people, so they are prepared for life in an unsympathetic world.

 

And finally, we see a church where the vision is kept bright through the years and all members have a stake in it.

We are a group of normal local people meeting together as a church. We‘re led by talented leadership and pastor (he has talents too). Our meeting style is casual and teaching & song leading is shared around those gifted in the areas. We love being together and as you’ll see from part of our vision statement, have a huge passion for meeting the people, community and needs of people around us. The Men & Ladies enjoy time together.
